|NOTICE - Disaster Relief Volunteers:|
|Team dates: OCTOBER 12 - 20, 2013|
We will head our chartered bus to the hills of West Virginia to help with rebuilding in this economically depressed area. This area should be near peak fall color while we are there. The trip will take a day and a half with an overnight in a motel each way.
This area was subjected to high winds and a major snow storm as a result of Hurricane Sandy. We will be involved in all phases of repairing homes with damaged roofs and the resulting interior water damage. There will be something for everyone to do regardless of skill level. We will also need a kitchen staff to do meal preparation for the team.
We will be staying in a Community Service building in Williamson which is located on the border of West Virginia and Kentucky. This building will contain bedrooms with bunk beds, showers, dining area and a full kitchen for our use.
This work camp is designed to take in only one work week.
Cost of this camp will be $395. This covers bus and motel costs, food on work days and a $75 donation to the project. Cost for those driving on their own will be $245.
