Temporary Dr. Needed in Liberia to Cover for Injured Physician

Dear Friends of Ganta United Methodist Hospital,

A little over a week ago, the Chief Medical Officer of Ganta United Methodist Hospital, Dr. Albert Willicor had a fall resulting into fracture of 2 little bones in his right leg. He underwent surgery (open reduction) at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Monrovia on Saturday, July 6 and is recuperating well. As a result of this injury, many patients were turned away and surgeries cancelled because the only physician available could not contain the influx.
We launched a SOS call and the Government of Liberia sent a physician for limited period of time. Giving the extraordinary endurance of Dr. Willicor, one physician was not enough to replace him, so we went out and hired another doctor to contain the situation. We are not sure where the salary for this new doctor comes but trusting God for provision.  Kindly keep Dr. Willicor and our patients in your prayers.
Additionally, we are still appealing for volunteer doctors to come and fill this gap. The hospital is in the position to provide housing for volunteers coming to serve during this critical time. Thanks for your assistance and we look forward to hearing from you.
