Honoring United Methodist Connected Humanitarians

It is with a sense of grief and pride that we lift up Peter Kassig whose parents are a part of Epworth United Methodist church family.  Peter was passionate about helping disenfranchised Syrians at his own personal peril, which ended yesterday in the report of his beheading at the hands of ISIS.

Also today we remember a surgeon, Dr. Salia, who working at Kissy Hospital in Sierra Leone (see related posting on this blog).  Dr. Salia succumbed to Ebola yesterday in a Omaha, Nebraska hospital.

We offer our prayers for those they have left behind.
