Red Cross Seeks RNs and Mental Health Providers for WV Floods

The Red Cross is currently seeking 3-5 nurses and/or licensed mental health providers to support community health and mental health needs in the WV flooding event. All travel costs, logistics, and a daily meal allowance will be covered by the Red Cross if needed. Depending on the nature of the support, Red Cross may also provide oversight and supervision of duties.

We request available folks be able to commit 7-10 days of volunteering (typically 12 hour shifts with one day off every 7 days on average) and arrive on the relief operation no later than  July 9  at the latest preferably as soon as possible. Activities may include:

·       Supporting a condolence team as Red Cross meets with families of deceased loved ones
·       Staffing an emergency aid station ( essentially a bulk distribution site with health and mental health volunteers available to assist impacted individuals if needed)
·       Supporting an outreach team as Red Cross meets with individuals and families to begin recovery and meet needs through immediate client casework (this is not case management)
·       Supporting a general population shelter (day/night shifts)

Thank you for your support. Please contact:    Greg Suddeth        greg.suddeth@redcross.org    or  Jacqueline Yannacci
