Hearts for Haiti: Hearts for Haiti is looking for volunteers to work 1, 2, or 3 weeks with the Eglise Methodiste de Haiti in Jeremie Haiti, during Feb and March of 2018. Volunteers will be working with mobile medical clinics and construction projects. The approximate cost is $1,800 including airfare for one week and $450 for each additional week. FOB Mountain Medical Mission Teams provide primary and preventative healthcare. They set up anti-parasite & Vitamin A stations as well as general medicine, eye, and dental clinics in small schools and churches. The majority of the patients have never seen a healthcare provider.
Each team is comprised of 4-5 medical professionals, 2-3 Spanish speakers, and non-medical volunteers with willing hearts and hands. Teams work side by side with FOB staff members in Honduras and are a key component to the model of healthcare we are striving to promote. January 15-22 or February 12-19, 2018 First United Methodist Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL is taking 2 teams to work with the Methodist Church in Havana, Cuba. Teams will work on housing for the seminary and do church visits around Havana. No special skills are required, but construction is a plus. The approximate cost is $1,600. End of Summer 2018The North Georgia Conference is looking for volunteers to join a team that is doing outreach in rural villages in the North Conference of the Nigerian United Methodist Church. Skills in vision care and basic medical screening will address specific needs. The team also plans to complete a small scale water factory to provide clean drinking water.
